This isn’t exactly a metadata post, but it is a good one on a typical day of a librarian who works with technology at a health sciences library.
A Day in the Life of a Librarian
The blog post is part a project from Librarian by Day
What is the Library Day in the Life Project?
It’s a chance to share your day, or week, with other librarians and hopefully the public at large. It started when I come discovered someone had searched “What’s a librarian’s day like” to find my blog so I wrote a blog post suggesting that other librarians and library workers blog what we do all day at work. Then we (and maybe patrons) could see what we do all day. A second objective is to escape the library echo chamber where we’re talking to each other and reach others outside of libraries.
II have been advised that I should point out that the blogger for GADGeTeCHNICA is my lovely and talented wife Kimberley. As for the snow monkey in her latest post; we’re just friends.
This is a very cool idea, Chris. I think it’s good to inform non-library people just what we do all day. I know my family hasn’t the slightest idea what my job (or my co-worker’s jobs) are really like. And how cool is it that your wife’s work issues iPads to employees? Awesome.
Excellent post. I learned a lot reading it. Thanks.
